Oslo

Oslo is located about 140 km from Charlottenberg. If you don't feel like taking the car, you can always go by train from Charlottenberg. In Oslo you can visit museums like the Fram museum, Kon-Tiki museum or Munch museum. Take a walk on Aker Brygge or in the park Vigelandsparken, or go shopping on the main street of Oslo, Karl-Johan, which also leads right up to the castle. You can easily get to most places in Oslo by foot, but you can also take the subway or the tram.

Mariebergsskogen

Mariebergsskogen is a very beautiful park i Karlstad, preserving cultural buildings, a small zoo for the kids, an open air theatre, walking trails, a bathing area and an ice-skating ring during the winter, and a huge playground for the kids, all for free. There is also Naturum, a building that works like an educational centre with information about animals and nature.

Rottneros Park

Rottneros Park in Sunne is a beautiful park devoted to the Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf. For the children there's a great adventure park that involves themes of Selma's most famous children's books. There are many sculptures throughout the whole park and everywhere you go it's full of fragrant flowers. You will not regret going here! Sunne Vattenpark

Sunne Vattenpark is a water land that really is a paradise for young and old. Here you'll find many popular water attractions. If you get tired, you can always enjoy the sun in one of the many sunbeds.

The Skitunnel in Torsby

The world's longest and Sweden's only ski tunnel. It also has the world's only indoor biathlon stadium, and if you like skiing you will get an experience you won't forget. The ski and skate tracks are 1,3 km long with natural level differences, and there's a constant temperature of 0 to -3 degrees.

Glaskogen's Nature Reserve

A 28000 ha big wilderness area with meandering streams, large and small lakes and vast forests. There's a wide variety of hiking and canoe trails here, and if you're lucky you just might see several of all the animals living here up close.

Klässbol's Textile Factory

Napkins and tablecloths from this small village in Värmland are, since many years back, used at the prestigious ceremony of the Nobel Banquet. Swedish and Norwegian embassies worldwide choose products from Klässbol's, and they also deliver products to the Swedish Court.

Travrike

Travrike is a cooperation between 5 popular trotting tracks in the area: Färjestad, Årjäng, Arvika, Säffle and Momarken. A good idea for a family activity!


Beredskapsmuseet

In Järnskog, Koppom, you can visit the museum "Beredskapsåra" where you can see and hear how the environment was for the soldiers that made emergency service at the border between 1940-45. Here you can find pictures, maps, uniforms and many other things that they used around this time.
